PRIVACY STATEMENT
Lockerpoint B.V., Lockerpoint Museumplein B.V., Lockerpoint RAI B.V., Lockerpoint ArenAPoort B.V. and Lockerpoint Luggage Storage B.V. (collectively ‘Lockerpoint’) specialize in renting out luggage lockers. These luggage lockers can be rented on-site or, in some cases, can be reserved in advance through one of our websites. Video surveillance cameras are installed at some of our locations.
When reserving and/or using a luggage locker and during a visit to one of our locations / our websites, we may collect personal data. Lockerpoint respects the privacy of its customers and visitors to its websites. To be fully transparent, we have formulated and implemented a policy regarding the processing of personal data, its purpose as well as the possibilities for data subjects to exercise their rights as effectively as possible.
When does this privacy statement apply?
This privacy statement applies to all personal data that we collect, use, store and share when you rent a locker from us, visit one of our websites, reserve a locker on one of our websites, when you contact us and/or when you enter one of our locations.
Our website contains links to third-party websites (e.g., Facebook). This privacy statement does not apply to the collection of data through these mentioned websites and we are not responsible for them. Please refer to the privacy policy of the relevant website (if available) for more information.
This privacy statement was last modified on September 19, 2020 and replaces all previous versions. We may change this privacy statement from time to time and inform you about any changes by publishing the modified statement on our websites. We recommend that you regularly review our privacy statement for changes.
Who is responsible for your data?
The entity whose location you enter or from whom you rent a luggage locker is responsible for collecting and using your personal data as further described in this privacy statement. In all other cases, Lockerpoint B.V. is responsible for collecting and using your personal data. It may occur that an affiliated Lockerpoint entity collects/uses personal data on behalf of an affiliated Lockerpoint entity (e.g., if you place a reservation on one of our general websites). All Lockerpoint entities are located at Newtonstraat 24H, 1098 HD in Amsterdam.
What data do we collect?
We collect personal data from and about you at five moments: (1) data we may record when you visit our website, (2) your (company) name, contact details and payment-related information when reserving a luggage locker online, (3) your (company) name and contact details that we may record when you contact us, (4) your email address when using a luggage locker, and (5) camera footage when entering one of our locations.

When using one of our websites, we may register your IP address.

If you reserve a luggage locker on our website, we ask you to provide the following personal data: first name, last name, address, postal code, city, country, phone number and email address. If relevant, we also ask for your company name and VAT number. Additionally, we record which type of locker you have reserved with us, for which period, the amount paid, the payment method, your PayPal address or anonymized bank account/credit card number and the IP address.
We only collect this data to provide our services, to know who has reserved a luggage locker, to contact you if necessary (e.g., if luggage is forgotten) and to process payments using Payment Facilitators.

You can contact us in various ways. For example, by calling us, sending an email or sending us a message using a contact form on one of our websites.
When you contact us, we may record your name, phone number, email address and/or IP address. This data will only be used to answer your question or respond to your complaint.
- Email address when using a luggage locker
If you use a luggage locker, we ask you to provide an email address where we can send relevant information regarding the rental of the luggage locker (e.g., locker number, rental period, our address, opening hours). We also use this email address to contact you if necessary (e.g., if you have forgotten items) and to prevent or combat possible fraud. Your email address will not be used for other purposes.
Additionally, we record which type of locker you have used, for what period, the amount paid, and the payment method. We collect this data to process payments with the help of Payment Facilitators.
If you want to pay cash for the rental of the luggage locker at Lockerpoint B.V., you must identify yourself with a passport, ID card, or driver’s license for security reasons. We will note the document number. This information is not shared with other parties.

- Camera footage when entering one of our locations
At some locations, digital static cameras are directed at our lockers. These cameras are present to protect the property of Lockerpoint and our customers. Camera footage can also be used to provide proper and timely support if our customers experience problems. In exceptional cases, camera footage may be used to hold individuals liable, prevent/combat fraud, or as evidence in legal proceedings. The camera footage will not be used for other purposes and will be kept for a maximum of 4 weeks and will only be provided to third parties in special cases (e.g., to the police in case of theft).
By entering our locations or by using one of our websites and/or luggage lockers, you agree that we collect, use, and share this data with third parties for the purposes described in this privacy statement.
How do we use your data?
Lockerpoint uses your data to provide our services and to contact you if necessary (e.g., if you have forgotten items). We also collect data to provide optimal and timely customer support, protect the property of Lockerpoint and our customers, and to prevent/combat fraud. Finally, we collect data to comply with Dutch laws and regulations (e.g., maintaining proper administration). We do not use your data for marketing purposes.
If you withdraw your consent or if you do not provide the correct information we need to provide our service or to comply with our legal obligations, you may not be able to use our services or only to a limited extent.
When we process your data for our legitimate interest or the interests of a third party, we have weighed these interests against your privacy interests. Where applicable, we will take measures to protect your privacy interests and prevent unjustified harm. Our legitimate interest includes, for example, security and safety purposes, preventing and combating fraud, and providing optimal service. You have the right to object to our assessment at any time.
With whom do we share your data?
We may share your data with the following organizations:
- With our group companies for central management of processes and support services (e.g., for central customer support and administration).
- Our external suppliers and service providers who enable the execution of the service (e.g., IT/software suppliers/web developers, payment facilitators) and who ensure that we comply with our obligations (e.g., an external accounting firm).
- Government institutions where this is legally permitted or if we are obliged to do so (e.g., supervisory authorities, tax authorities, law enforcement agencies).
With the third parties with whom we cooperate, we conclude agreements that stipulate, among other things, that they will handle your data confidentially and that this data will be adequately secured.
How long do we keep your data and how do we secure it?
We retain your data for as long as necessary to achieve the purposes described in this privacy statement. We keep camera footage for a maximum of 4 weeks and other information generally no longer than 7 years (the fiscal retention obligation), unless the data is necessary to comply with our legal obligations or for potential disputes. When we no longer need your data, we will destroy it within a reasonable time.
We have implemented technical and organizational measures to protect your data against loss or unlawful use, such as unauthorized access to data. In this regard, we take into account current technology and implementation costs. This allows us to guarantee an appropriate level of security, considering the risks that the processing of specific personal data may entail.
What are my legal rights?
Under the GDPR, you have the following rights to maintain control over your personal data:
- Right of access. You have the right to receive a copy of your personal data that we process.
- Right to be forgotten. In certain cases, you can ask us to delete your personal data (if we no longer need it for the purpose for which we collected it).
- Right to rectification and completion. You have the right to change the personal data we process if it is incorrect.
- Right to data portability. You have the right to have your personal data transferred to another party.
- Right to restriction of processing. In certain situations, you have the right to restrict the use of your personal data (e.g., if this data is no longer necessary or incorrect).
- Right to a ‘human perspective’ on decisions. If we were to apply automated decisions and profiling, you have the right to a ‘human perspective’ on these decisions.
- Right to object to data processing. In certain situations, you can object to the processing of your personal data. This is the case, for example, if we were to use your data for direct marketing or due to your specific situation.
- Right to clear information about what we do with your data. You have the right to clear information about what we do with your personal data and why.
